So many issues face us. Robert can tackle them and make our community a better place.
Campaign Issues: Healthcare
As the strongest nation on earth, Robert believes that every American has a right to affordable, accessible, and quality healthcare.
Robert believes that healthcare is a human right. Every American deserves to be able to access affordable, quality, and comprehensive healthcare. Robert wants to work in Congress to support universal healthcare that is economically balanced to fulfill the promise that the Obama Administration made.
Robert will not abandon the residents of the 15th Congressional District, he will make sure that those who have dutifully paid into our security net have access to Social Security and Medicare in their retirement. He will work to protect and expand Social Security and Medicare for all Americans.
Robert stands with women in their right to control their own bodies. He believes safe, accessible, quality health is a fundamental right and need in our communities. As a parent of daughters Robert will ensure that every female’s right to choose is protected, by the United States government.
Campaign Issues: Infrastructure
Pennsylvania’s 15th District bridges, roads, and transportation systems; airports, and railroads need to be modernized to keep our travelers safe, our economy on time, and attract businesses looking to invest in the 15th District and the entirety of Pennsylvania.
The people that build this better future are integral to its success, ensuring that workers are fairly compensated with a livable, minimum wage, well trained, and supporting organized labor whenever possible.
Campaign Issues: Veterans & Military Service
The women and men who volunteer to serve in our military must be treated with dignity and respect. These women and men should be paid a living wage and given the best medical care during and after their service to our country. When elected, I will make sure that millions of dollars in funds meant for military families and veterans aren’t diverted for other uses.
Under my leadership, we will:
- Ensure no service members – including active duty or veterans – live below the poverty line
- Raise the minimum pay of enlisted members.
- Vote against unnecessary military actions.
- Improve transition programs to guarantee living-wage jobs for veterans entering the civilian workforce
- Improve housing conditions of veterans and service members.
- Work with the military to provide the best care possible for our military service persons.
Campaign Issues: Human Trafficking
The Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) defines trafficking as the act of recruiting, harboring, transporting, or obtaining a person for compelled labor or commercial sex acts through the use of force, fraud, or coercion.
I have some knowledge of the extent of Human Trafficking in the United States and in Pennsylvania. Most Americans acknowledge Human Trafficking as a problem in foreign countries, but parts of Pennsylvania, is a part of the Human Trafficking corridor. In 2016, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children estimated that 1 in 6 endangered runaways reported to them were likely sex trafficking victims. Globally, the International Labor Organization estimates that there are 4.5 million people trapped in forced sexual exploitation globally. Children and adults are disappearing and being sold into slavery while the United States is not addressing this problem, it has been stated that there are 57,000 people living in slavery in the United States.
It has been reported that victims of child trafficking can be abused over and over. A $32 billion-a year industry, human trafficking is on the rise and is cause for concern. In the 15th Congressional District, I will work to train, educate, and advocate with the FBI, local law-enforcement, our educators and the general public to combat Human Trafficking in our district. As an adult educator I have worked with the Blue Campaign to understand this plague on our society as well increase the understanding of Emergency responders.
